Benefits of a full crew
surprisingly witha full team in The Wild Hunt fight doesn't change things much. You'd expect that having everyone present would result in a better outcome for the protagonist team, but instead, the key scenes remain the same. Other than that, the composition of the team still brings some advantages:
- Earn the Full Crew Achievement or Trophy (Letho, Folan, and Vigi do not count)
- Some scenes and sequences are slightly different. For example, Letho will help you and Lambert fight outside the barrier.
- Lambert is guaranteed to survive when Kiera is around as she saves him from danger. The couple then become romantically involved and end up together. Without her, you'll have to rescue Lambert mid-mission.
preparation phase
This main quest starts immediately upon completion"Isle of Mists."However, you don't have to start addressing the goals. Kaer Morhen will be open for you to explore, with some hidden things to find, monsters to fight, as well as some of the characters out there if you want to get to know them a little better.
You cannot fast travel during this quest.
error trigger
It's worth noting that there are a lot of side quests and other things you must do before completing the Isle of Mists quest, as they will fail and become inaccessible if you don't.
Some of the most important quests and questlines to complete before the Battle of Kaer Morhen include The Bloody Baron, Triss Merigold, Skellige's new ruler Keira Metz, Redania's Fate, and the Brothers in Arms quests. Make sure you complete these main stories from earlier parts of the game before you miss your chance.
decisions in the meeting
Grab some swords, repair kits, and make sure all your potions, bombs, and abilities are set and ready to go. It's finally time to get started. The first part of this quest involves a brief encounter with the allies and fighters on your side.
Here you have to make an important decision:Prepare some potions or create traps. Here's what you get when you choose potions:
- Superior Swallow
- blitz
- Runenstein
If you decide to use traps, then they will be installed around the fortress, which can help to automatically reduce the number of enemies to some extent.
Now the second decision:excavate the armory or repair some damage to the fortress walls. If you go to the Armory you will get a decent silver sword.Rose von Shaerrawed. If you choose to patch the holes, there will be less chase waves to defend against during the attack.

combat phase
After the meeting is over and your preparations are complete, the battle begins. There are three portals through which the hunt will send soldiers. Work with Lambert and Letho (if he's present) to shut them down with the Dimeritium or Yrden bombs.
This is pretty straight forward and easy, you might have trouble clearing all the soldiers. However, it is advisable to use Yrden and save your bombs for later.
Combat Phase: As Ciri
Then switch to playing as Ciri. Triss is in trouble and needs your help. You can use Ciri's powers along with a magical amulet that Triss gives you.
The amulet summons fireballs that deal massive damage in an area around you.although they also hurt Ciri,so be careful. Kill the enemies around Triss with the Amulet and Ciri's Charge attack and you'll finish this part with ease.
Combat Phase: Return to Fortress
Then head back to Geralt, who is riding his horse, Roach. You must run back to the fortress as quickly as possible while dodging attacks and fireballs.
Upon arrival, Vesemir will repel part of the hunt. You can use the lever to close the gate behind Vesemir and stop the game from attacking inside the fortress.
If Ermion was recruited for this fight,There will be gas traps that can be detonated with Igni and do some damage to the game.
During this part of the battle, Lambert is in trouble. If you haven't recruited Keira, you have the option to rescue Lambert yourself. However, if Keira is there, she'll save you the trouble and save Lambert herself. The two later become lovers. Imagine that.
Combat Phase: Donkey Help
In the next section, Yennefer's powers will gradually decrease. The soldiers will overwhelm the fortress, and Geralt will have to fend off some of them before he can help Triss.
Then comes another part where you play as Ciri. Eskel is fighting Caranthir and needs help and you have to help him as Ciri. Then, after fending off some enemies, open the gate
Battle phase: Back to Geralt
If you play as Geralt again, you'll have to close more portals. There isdimer pumpsin crates if you need more once the portals close, but they will overwrite the higher versions if you have them, meaning you'll have to craft them again later. Alternatively, you can use Yrden as before to avoid running out of bombs.
Triss will ask for help and you must help her again. However, once you get close enough, the fight will automatically end and a cutscene will play.
Final
It's no exaggeration to say that a lot happens after that. The fight comes to an end, but not before some suitably dramatic events end with bittersweet flourishes. What happens next?
The next mission, "Blood on the Battlefield", deals mainly with the aftermath of the battle. Any of Geralt's allies will keep you posted on what they're up to from here. During Blood on the Battlefield, you will have to make some important decisions that will help determine whether Ciri will live or die later on.
